Abdul Salam

Abdul Salam received the MCS from department of Computer Science, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan, in 2003. He was gold medallist in MCS. Before this he received his B.Sc. in Computer Science form the same university, securing first position in Computer Science, in 2001. He served as a Lecturer in department of Computer Science Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan, from 2003 to 2005. He is CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate). Currently he is pursing his CCVP. He has taught System Programming, Theory of Automata, Concurrent Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Structured Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms, Computer Networking, Computer Architecture, Compiler Construction and Operating Systems Courses to MCS, M.Sc. Telecommunication, MIT, BS Telecommunication, BS (CS), and BS (IT) classes. He was also System Administrator of Sun Solaris Lab equipped with Sun E-250 server and Sun Ray 1 headless terminals, with installed base of a popular UNIX operating system from Sun Microsystems, Sun Solaris 10. He was coordinator of the M.Sc. Telecommunication classes in Computer Science department for 2004. He was coordinator of Zakariyan Computer Club (ZCC). ZCC conducted successful 1st IT & Telecom Festival in 2004. There was a great moment in his teaching vocation when he got a hold on academic distinction in the academic teachers assessment conducted by the university in 2005. His primary research interests include Operating Systems, Systems Programming, as well as Networking and Telecommunications. He is architect of SysPak OS, a µ-kernel based operating system, which run's on Intel 386 to Pentium machines. His research is being taught in foreign universities of the world as operating system case study. He has supervised the projects/dissertations of more than 75 students in different areas of computer science. He is a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), IBM Academic Initiative Program and IEEE.
