A man of immense erudition, Prof Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, is a great
Islamic thinker, interpreter of the Qur'an, reformer, educationist,
spiritualist, orator of the first rank and a great statesman of his time. He

Shaykh Zia-ud-Din Madani (Medina), Mawlana Ahmad Saeed Kazmi (Multan), Dr
Burhan Ahmad Farooqui, Shaykh Muhammad bin Alawi al-Maliki (Makkah) and his
father, Dr Farid-ud-Din Qadri were some of his religious teachers and above
all Sayyidina Tahir Ala’-ud-Din al-Qadri al-Gilani is his spiritual guide.
A lecturer in Islamic law at Punjab University Law College, Dr Qadri served
as a visiting Professor and the In charge of Islamic legislation discipline
for LLM classes. He has delivered over 5000 lectures on numerous aspects of
Islam such as Qur'an, sunnah, sirah, Islamic sufism, Qur'anic philosophy of
revolution, Islamic jurisprudence, economics, politics, comparative study of
religions, science, etc in comparison to Islamic teachings and injunctions.
An author of numerous valuable books and papers in Urdu, English and Arabic
languages, he has delivered honorary lectures at Maryland University (USA),
King’s College (London), University of Hartford (USA), Durban University
(South Africa) and many other universities abroad. Dr Qadri is the founder
and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Qur'an International Movement with its
branches in more than 80 countries. He has established a chain of education
centers across Pakistan that has been declared by the UN, the world’s
largest educational project by any NGO by the American Biographical
Institute (ABI).
A man of international repute and stature, Dr Qadri is known around the
globe as the ambassador of unity, peace and human development. His services
to the welfare of mankind have also been internationally recognized. ABI honored him with the Outstanding
Man of the 20th Century award. ABI declared his name for the Millennium
Dictionary of 500 Individuals as Leading Intellectual of the World,
and One of the Five Hundred Leaders of Influence award for his
services to mankind during the last century. International Biographical
Centre, Cambridge, England, has awarded Dr Qadri the International Man of
the Year 1998-99 award in recognition of his humanitarian efforts,
services to social work and education. |
